What is the signature problem in the east?
Salt, in two flavours. Harbour haze on the north-facing glass and render from Point Piper to Rose Bay, and heavier Tasman salt on everything facing the ocean from Bondi to Clovelly. It hazes glass, chalks render and corrodes exposed metal, which is why the east needs washing more often than most of Sydney.
