Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. Plain English, no fine-print games.
Last updated 16 July 2026
The short version
We collect what we need to quote your place, book the job and do the work. We do not sell your information to anyone, ever. If you want to see what we hold or have it deleted, email hello@getschmick.com and we sort it.
Schmick (ABN 89 681 878 955) handles personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains how.
What we collect
Contact details: your name, email, phone number and suburb, when you fill in a form, build a quote or call us.
Property details: your address and what we can read about the outside of your property, such as roof type, storeys, glass and access. The quote engine uses your address to look up publicly available property data, mapping and aerial imagery so it can price the job.
Job records: what we did, when, and the before and after photos we shoot for your condition report.
Payment details: handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
Site analytics: anonymous page counts so we know what people read. No advertising trackers.
How we collect it
Directly from you, through the quote builder, the contact form, email, SMS or a phone call. From public property data and imagery providers when we price your address. And on site, when the crew photographs the work.
What we use it for
Quoting your place and confirming the price. Booking, scheduling and the text before we arrive. Doing the job and sending your condition report. Telling you about your booking, your Plan or a storm callout. Improving how we quote and work.
That is the list. We do not use your information for anything unrelated to keeping the outside of your home schmick.
Who we share it with
Service providers who help us run Schmick: form processing, payments, website hosting and analytics. Some of these providers store data overseas, mainly in the United States. We only share what each provider needs to do its job.
Property data and imagery providers receive your address so the quote engine can price it. Nobody receives your details for marketing, and nobody buys them.
We would disclose information if the law required it. That is the only other case.
Where it lives and how it is protected
Your information is stored with reputable cloud providers behind access controls, and only the people who need it to serve you can see it. We keep job records and condition reports while you are a customer and for as long as tax and legal obligations require, then delete them.
Marketing
If you have booked with us or asked to hear from us, we may occasionally send something worth knowing, like a seasonal reminder or a Founding Streets note for your suburb. Every message has an unsubscribe, and one email to hello@getschmick.com stops the lot.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without identifying you. We do not run advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
Access, correction and deletion
Email hello@getschmick.com and we will show you what we hold, correct anything wrong, or delete what we can. Some records must be kept for tax and legal reasons; we will tell you if that applies.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your information, email hello@getschmick.com or call 1800 SCHMICK and we will put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes up here with a new date. We will not quietly weaken it.
