Getting started

What does Schmick actually do?

Schmick cleans the whole outside of your Sydney home: windows, house soft wash, gutters, driveways and paths, roofs, sandstone, fences and solar panels. One crew, one visit, the whole place kept schmick. If it is outside and it has gone grey, it is on the board.

Where do you work?

Schmick works across Sydney’s North Shore and Eastern Suburbs — Mosman, Cremorne, Vaucluse, Bronte, Double Bay, Darling Point and the streets around them — with the harbour-side suburbs as home turf. Not sure we are on your street yet? Build a quote and we will tell you straight.

How is Schmick different from the usual pressure-wash mob?

Three things: Schmick soft washes instead of blasting, photographs every job against a documented checklist called the Schmick Standard, and on the Plan sends the same operator back each visit. Most of the industry turns up with one pressure washer and uses it on everything.

Quotes & booking

How do I get a price?

Build your quote on the getschmick.com homepage: pick your place and what needs doing, and a firm price appears in about 60 seconds. No forms, no callback, no sales lap around your driveway.

Is the quote the final price?

The instant quote is a firm, bookable price, not an estimate. It holds unless the place is materially bigger or in worse shape than described, and if anything changes we tell you before we start, not after.

How far ahead should I book?

A week or two ahead is comfortable most of the year. Spring books out fastest — the whole street wants the same fortnight. Plan members are already on the route, so they skip the queue.

Do I need to be home?

No — most jobs run start to finish without you home. We only need access to a locked side gate or an outside tap, so tell us where the water is and how to get in. We text before we arrive.

On the day

Will it be the same person each time?

On the Schmick Plan, yes — the same operator returns to your place each visit, learns its quirks and remembers the dog’s name. One-off jobs get a trained crew working to the same Standard, cream polo and clean cap.

What if it rains?

Light rain does not stop a wash. A real weather event does, and we move you to the next clear slot without fuss. You will hear from us before you wonder.

How long does a visit take?

Most Sydney homes take a morning — windows and gutters together are done by lunch. A full soft wash on a big harbour-side place can run longer, and we tell you the window when we confirm the booking.

The work & the Standard

What is the Schmick Standard?

The Schmick Standard is the documented checklist every job is measured against: squeegee lines you can see from the street, tracks and screens done, gutters flushed, and photographed before-and-after proof in a condition report. A checklist, not a vibe.

Is it safe for my render, sandstone and plants?

Yes — Schmick soft washes rather than pressure-blasts, matching the method to the surface: salt and lichen lifted gently off sandstone, render washed at low pressure, plants rinsed down after. If a patch needs a specialist, we flag it instead of winging it.

What if I am not happy?

We come back and put it right, at no charge. If a pane, a panel or a length of gutter is not schmick, tell us. The finish is the product, and we do not leave it half done.

Are you insured?

Yes — Schmick is fully insured, and the crew is trained to a documented standard. Ladders, harnesses and the boring safety paperwork are handled, so you never have to think about it.

Can you pressure wash windows, solar panels or render?

No — those get soft washed, never blasted. High pressure breaches window seals, strips the coating off solar panels and forces water behind render. Schmick matches the method to the surface: a water-fed pole and pure water on glass, deionised water on panels, low pressure on walls. Pressure is for hard flatwork like driveways, and even then through a controlled surface cleaner, not a bare lance.

How often should I have the outside cleaned?

It depends on the surface and the shade. As a rule: windows two to three times a year, gutters twice, a house soft wash yearly, solar panels quarterly near the water. Anything shaded or harbour-side wants it more often, because damp and salt never let up. The Schmick Plan puts the right cadence on a schedule so you stop tracking it.

Pricing & the Plan

How much does it cost?

Window cleaning from $150, gutter cleaning from $180, house soft wash from $300, driveways from $180 — two storeys adds 40–50%, and bundling services saves up to 15%. The quote builder gives your exact number in about 60 seconds. The Schmick Plan is a monthly membership: Keep $89, Care $179 or Full Schmick $329.

What is the Street Rate?

The Street Rate is the better price a street earns when neighbours book together: the van is already there, so three houses on one visit beats three separate trips, and the saving is passed back to everyone on the street.

What are Founding Streets?

Founding Streets is Schmick’s launch offer: the first 100 homes in a suburb lock the founding rate for life. Early belief, priced in. After that the rate settles to standard, but the founders keep theirs.

Is there a lock-in contract?

The Schmick Plan runs twelve months, then month to month. Move up, move down or pause, and we sort it before your next visit. If we are not the best money your house spends, leave.

Why do you publish prices when nobody else does?

Because you should know what the outside of your house costs before anyone knocks on the door. The industry hides behind a vague starting price and a site visit that only ever revises the number up. Schmick prices every job from a live price book and shows it in the quote — the same figure we book at, not a teaser.

Anything else

Do you do strata or commercial?

Yes — Schmick services strata blocks, shopfronts, hospitality and the odd heritage facade across Sydney. Same Standard, scaled up. Send the building details and we will scope it.

Do gutter guards mean I never need cleaning again?

No — guards cut the leaf load, but fine debris, seed and grit still build up, and some designs trap moisture against the roof line. Insurers still expect gutters to be maintained. Schmick clears and inspects yours whether or not there is guard on top, so a blocked run never quietly turns into a water-damage claim.

Should I seal my driveway after a clean?

Often worth it — a seal after cleaning resists oil, algae and staining, and stretches the interval before the next wash. Not every surface needs it, so we only suggest it where it pays: concrete and pavers more than exposed aggregate. It is a set add-on with a clear price, never a surprise on the invoice.

Can I gift a Schmick?

Yes — you can gift a Schmick clean: a one-off for a parent, or a settlement gift that actually gets used. Ask us and we will set it up.
